The Awake Overnight shift duration is 10:00pm to 7:30am with rotating weekends, subject to current scheduling needs.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions
• Must be able to pass a Minnesota State background check
• Must be kind and compassionate for supporting persons with disabilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

The Awake Overnight position is primarily a cleaning and organization role where you will clean and sanitize the House while the residents sleep. There are times during the Overnight shift that you will provide compassionate, nurturing support, to assist the resident in going to bed and again in the morning with:

• Life Skills: personal hygiene, making breakfast, doing dishes
• Social Skills: conversation, games, companionship, healthy/safe boundaries
• Health Skills: overseeing medication and prescription usage, monitoring for medical and mental health considerations
• Mobility Skills: help with transitioning in and out of wheelchair and vehicle

What the Awake Overnight Position Looks Like with Progressive Living Solutions:

• Household cleaning activities to sanitize and organize the House, no heavy lifting
  You will be interacting directly with the residents, either as a group or individually
• Provide nurturing support to the residents with their daily living activities and advocate for a full and meaningful quality of life
  You will not be on your feet all the time
  Our residents have mild limitations, so it is less stressful and less physically demanding than a facility working with persons with advanced limitations, medical frailties, and physical behavioral needs
• Other support activities may vary depending on the needs of the individual

Advancement: We believe that it is important to provide a pathway for quality persons to step in to a larger role with PLS. When there is a House Lead position available, we desire to promote from within! Most of our House Leads began their careers with us as Direct Care Staff, and in time, developed their caregiver skills operational abilities to become candidates for advancement.
